As you can see I am once again showing off my genius when it comes to making titles! ... But yes, welcome to this week's post! We have a kind of pseudo-sequel to a post from a few weeks back. Though depending on how you interpret it, it could be a prequel based on the state of dress I'm in compared to the previous on. You could also view this as an alternate universe sort of take to. Allow me to explain!
I mentioned it earlier, but this picture is very similar to the previous post titled "Purple Tentacles Again!" I released awhile back. After all, the same artist worked on both pieces and the both pictures feature myself hypnotized by the aforementioned tentacles. There is one very unique and distinct difference between the two however, and I'm not talking about the contents of the picture either. While the previous picture was commissioned by me, this picture was commissioned by none other than Keeper of Pots himself.
Yes, while he is a fantastic artist in his own right, Keeper opted to commission this picture. If I recall our conversation, he mentioned that he was a big fan of the artist who worked on the previous piece, Sugar-Slime. Not just from my own commission, but from the other random pictures from the artist that showed up on the Hub made Keeper of Pots into a fan. That being said, there was something about the previous picture that didn't quite agree with him. In fact to this day, I still don't actually know what it was.
Whatever the case, Keeper of Pots felt like my previous commission wasn't quite tapping into the artist's potential per se. And so he took it upon himself to commission one for himself. Something like that was, and still is a huge surprise to me. Sometimes it slips my mind, but just because you CAN draw, doesn't mean that you always want to. Or perhaps you could really value the art style of a separate artist. Either way, and artist commissioning another artist for art is something that always slips my mind. And with all that being said, we are greeted with this picture!
Now you know what I mean when this is a potential sequel, prequel, or even alternate universe take on the previous picture. Honestly, I never asked Keeper how he wanted to interpret this piece, but all I know is that I was not only super shocked, but also incredibly grateful he chose me to be in his first, and to this date, only commission he's ever done. I guess he really liked that artist! So it makes me sad to report that not too long after this the artist went silent, and then eventually closed their accounts... But hey, at least we got these two pictures to look back on!
Art by: Sugar-Slime
Commissioned by: Keeper of Pots
