Inspiration.

This is a pretty interesting picture in terms of lore. To start off with, this picture was made by an artist known as Etlabsotwe. Though some of you who have been around for awhile might know this artist by a different name, they decided to rename themselves for hypnosis based drawings, and I will respect that here. Either way though, I first met Etlabsotwe by messaging him on Deviant Art asking for a request. I managed to find out about them through Hypno Hub however, as he was a budding artist just recently posting a bunch of new pictures that caught my fancy.

Now some of you might notice but, this is actually the first Erika picture on here that features my "default" outfit. That's because Etlabsotwe is a mostly vanilla based artist. Though he has been known to draw some nudity in recent times, he mostly prefers pictures with hypnosis as the focus more so than the porn. And that's also something I can totally agree on from time to time! So after discussing a request featuring the classic "Just draw Erika hypnotized" I had to also come up with an outfit to wear.

That was something that never really occurred to me before in all of my previous requests and commissions. I've never specifically asked or looked for a kind of outfit. So what I ended up deciding on was... Well naturally the outfit I was wearing at the time. Which consisted of skinny jeans, socks, and a skull t-shirt with a broken heart. The black hoodie is something I added on despite not wearing it, as I always wear a hoodie when I go out. No exceptions.

So with that, the default outfit for me to wear in hypnosis pictures was decided! As for the picture itself, well as I said, I didn't quite have an idea in mind as per usual and so we have Erika kneeling while being hypnotized by a pendulum! It's simple but effective. I've always been a fan of Etlabsotwe's art style and even then back when he was a new artist, I'd still say it looks very cute. Incidentally however, He did end up getting the eye color wrong. We've gone back to the green eyed Erika style! Though it was at this point however, that I stopped using photos of myself as references. There were enough drawings of me out there already that I could get away with just using a previously drawn one as a reference. So perhaps that's where the mistaken eye color came from.

Though one important thing came from this meeting, and it wasn't this picture. After becoming friends with Etlabsotwe, we had an extended discussion about random things on Deviant Art. Stuff about our lives, future goals, etc. In particular though, he did ask me if I had any immediate goals I wanted to accomplish. My answer to that was no. I didn't really have anything I wanted to do. He said it's good to have something to work towards, even if it might be something trivial. Help keep yourself motivated you know? And eventually it was through that conversation that inspired me to create a random goal. That goal being: Reach 100 tagged pictures of myself on Hypno Hub.

Yes that's right. For those of you who've seen me around a lot back in 2014/2015 it was because I was randomly inspired to meet a completely arbitrary goal of 100 self tagged pictures. It just kinda hit me as something random to work towards. So from here on I started commissioning a lot more pieces of myself, which eventually got me noticed by people. Either recognizing "Hey it's that blonde and black haired girl being hypnotized again!" or people actively realizing and supporting me on that goal. This interaction with Etlabsotwe is what started it all, and for that I will always be thankful. I met some awesome friends along the way, whom I'll never forget for the rest of my life.
