Greetings again all, we're back this week continuing the Erika's Birthday Batch 2015 Edition, which if you've been following the blog so far, needs no introduction at this point... but wait a second! This artist kind of looks familiar. That's right, while I did allude to it a few weeks back, this is actually the second birthday picture done by the amazing Etlabsotwe. Not only do they produce fantastic and cute hypnosis images, but they were kind enough to make two birthday pictures for me back in 2015!
As per most birthday related pictures, I had nothing to do with the planning or creation of it. Thus, I cannot really talk about how or why this came to be, but there's no way I'd have anything negative to say about a second gift from the same person. Actually, this picture actually has a lot going for it that I really like. To open up though, the artist did something rather unique here. If memory serves, this is the only time in the entirety of Erika pictures that you'll see me wearing this specific outfit. What is this outfit though? Actually the clothing in this picture is also based on an outfit that I own in real life.
I vaguely talked about it before, but when I first started having hypnosis pictures drawn of me, naturally I didn't have any previous pictures to draw reference from. So I actually used photos of myself to provide a reference to artists. Nowadays I no longer need to do that, so please don't ask. But since this was so long ago, I had sent some reference photos to Etlabsotwe and they apparently took note of what I was wearing in the picture, and thus incorporated it into this image here. I had to take special note of that detail because I gotta give props for not only surprising me with a second picture, but also surprising me use of a non-canon but also canon Erika outfit. If that makes sense.
Besides that though, other things I'd say I love about this picture are the one shoulder strap falling off to the side. I do think exposed shoulders can be lewd, and this is one of the cases where that's the case. It implies that I'm too hypnotized to care about my state of dress even if it's disheveled. The overall posture of the picture is great too, it's simple by showing off a general relaxed atmosphere, but since it has me sitting up straight, that kind of implies that whatever is hypnotizing me has my complete attention. This is accentuated by the big spiral in the background which focuses on my head, implying that anything in the background doesn't matter.
And most importantly, we must always talk about the expression! Here we have a cute smile and blush, with spirals in the eyes. Nothing too outlandish, but it does match the overall feeling of picture. You can imagine that whatever it is I'm looking at in the picture is saying something like "It feels so good to be hypnotized" or something along those lines, with Erika just mindlessly smiling along and feeling good. Overall, I'd say everything in this picture flows together nicely! And while it may feel simple initially, sometimes simple is best, and I'd say it's one of my favorite images in this birthday batch.
