This picture is kind of a continuation of the previous entry on the blog. But by "continuation" I don't mean canonically. I mean in the same commission batch. This piece is once again by artist Medri, and was also ordered on the same set of commissions as the previous one, however this time it was commissioned by someone else. I suppose around this time, some people who were not people I'd actively talked to had begun to take notice of me. The person in particular is an amazing person and great friend named Roxa. You may recognize the name, as he's that guy who's commissioned tons and tons of great hypnosis art over the years.
Roxa had apparently come to notice me around this time, and he had also happened to be on Medri's list of commissions. Roxa then contacted me and asked if it'd be ok if he included me in a commission of his. Naturally I was ecstatic! Not only was he interested in including me, but also I was incredibly happy to know that people were starting to recognize me. Naturally though, since this would be Roxa's commission I didn't want to impart any suggestions or ideas. The fact that I'd be in it was good enough for me.
However, Roxa did ask me for some things that I like in a hypnosis picture. I do recall answering that question with "tentacles" because you can never go wrong with tentacles, hypnosis or otherwise! If I remember correctly as well, Roxa wanted to originally commission two of Medri's original characters before he decided to add me in as well. And so, taking his original idea of keeping Medri's two characters, then adding me on top of that, plus my off handed mention of liking tentacles... mix 'em all together and we get this piece!
On the blurb Medri himself left on the comment of this picture he mentioned that Cassidy (the orange alien) drinking an experimental tail growth formula, hence the empty bottle on the floor, and then encounter Kassidy (the blue alien) who was already in the process of hypnotizing Erika. I'm not sure if Medri himself came up with that scenario after hearing Roxa's idea, or if it was Roxa's idea after mixing and matching our ideas together. I was not there for the description of the piece after all. Still it definitely comes off as an interesting one and I'll always be thankful of Roxa taking interest enough in me to include me in a commission that he already had planned out.
