Debut of Prehistoric Erika!

Now I know what you're thinking... "Wait! This isn't a hypnosis based picture!" and you're probably right! Though this isn't the first time a non-hypnosis picture has been added to this blog, and it most likely won't be the last. Admittedly, I was thinking of posting this picture in a sketch dump type post, because there will be some of those in the future! But I figured this picture deserves it's own unique description. Plus I also think it's super cute!

So to begin with, this picture was done but the ever awesome Keeper of Pots! In particular though, this picture was drawn in Microsoft Paint of all things. Hearing that actually blew me away, because if you're like me trying to draw something tangible in Paint is ridiculously hard. However, not only is this picture actually incredibly coherent, but it also just looks fantastic. If you had come to me and said "This was drawn in Paint." I definitely wouldn't have believed you.

As for how this picture came to be though, I remember I was discussing with Keeper of Pots about my love for dinosaurs. For those of you who don't know... well I love dinosaurs. In fact, there should be a dinosaur in the background art of this very blog! But Keeper of Pots being a more cartoony based artist, whenever I saw him draw a dinosaur it was usually more goofy or friendly looking. I've actually never been the biggest fan of friendly looking dinosaurs, and much prefer a realistic approach to them. So I was wondering if Keeper of Pots could actually pull that off?

Then he just randomly surprised me with this on that same day. Something he managed to cook up fairly quickly all things considered. The dinosaur while not being the most realistic, was definitely less cartoony and friendly looking than the usual. The chibi-ness of the picture was still there, keeping up with Keeper's sense of aesthetics. But I do feel like that does overall make the picture as unique as it is.

And of course it wouldn't be an Erika picture without me! Representing me, is a unique prehistoric version of myself. There has been some representation of a jungle version of me, and we will be seeing jungle Erika more in the future. However, this iteration is something uniquely for Keeper and I. We haven't done much with her as of the writing of this post, but Prehistoric Erika is an OC of ours where Erika lives out her days in the Mesozoic era! Who knows what kind of wacky adventures she will find? Most of the pictures we have so far are her interactions with dinosaurs, but perhaps there are some unknown hypnotic creatures lurking in the Mesozoic period? Who knows!? Only time will tell...
