Hoo boy, here we have a picture that covers many "firsts" for Erika pieces, so we're gonna be in for a long blog post today! For example, this is the first time I've been paired with a character from an established franchise, the first time I had any kind of sexual interaction with another female, and the first time I have been paired with a loli. There might be even more that I'm missing, but even so, this picture was definitely a pioneer in terms of Erika pictures, and actually is still one of my all time favorite pieces. So a big thanks for Roxa for commissioning this wonderful picture!
A bit of back story though, the character featured in this picture is Rachel Alucard from the Blazblue series. Blazblue is probably one of my all time favorite games, and while I don't actually play Rachel, she's probably my favorite character in the game. Around this time I had actually convinced Roxa to play the game somehow. While the games are fighting games at their core, the Blazblue series has a pretty solid story and characters (or awful and convoluted depending on who you ask) and that was enough to get Roxa to keep playing them. And with Roxa fully invested, he naturally gained a few waifus from the series, and also was inspired to work on the first yuri Erika picture.
Roxa had contacted me about the idea and I was absolutely ecstatic to hear. Not only was this a first for many Erika pictures, but I was also happy to hear that he had gotten invested in the series I love. Despite me being friends with a fair bit of artists at this point, I couldn't really discuss or play Blazblue with any of my new hypno friends. Something that still holds true to this day unfortunately... With that all set up though, Roxa went to go contact an artist for the idea. The artist chosen was... Well to be honest, I have no idea what to call them. The artist in particular has gone through many different names over the years with a few of them being: Evenytron, Vincios, and Pedrovin. For consistencies sake, I'll go with "Vincios" as that was the name the artist went by at the time of this commission.
As far as the commissioning process went, I couldn't really say how it went as again, Roxa was the one to commission this picture. That being said, I did get constant updates from him along the way and the picture arrived in a timely manner, so I don't think there were any issues there. As for the picture itself... well as I said I earlier, this is one of my all time favorite Erika pictures to this day. I'm a big fan of Rachel obviously, the character expressions on both myself and Rachel are top notch, the close eye to eye hypnotic induction is a big yes from me, the picture has that rare blend of being cute yet also sexy, and of course we have actual lewdness involved. All while the characters are more or less in canon.
See, this isn't a topic I've had a chance to bring up in my blog posts yet as this is the fist time I've been paired with an established character. From this point on moving forward, we'll be seeing more of them. So with that being said, I'd like to take the time to mention that when using copyrighted characters, I absolutely do my best to keep them as close to canon in terms of abilities and personality as possible. Obviously some liberties are taken, as it wouldn't be in character for Rachel to engage in something sexual like this, but in terms of dialogue, costume, and even hypnotic abilities, everything else is in order! And that's something I'll strive for in future Erika x <insert established character here> pictures.
This post has been rather long already but I have just a bit more to squeeze in. Despite being one of my all time favorite pictures, this picture has also been a headache for me. At the time of it's release, there were no problems and I loved it. As time went on though, the artist of many names Vincios no longer wanted their art on the Hub. Thus, this picture was one of the first times I felt hurt by the DNP list. This picture was purged from the Hub because of that. Vincios has an on again off again relation with the Hub so this picture was always hovering around in limbo. The final nail in the coffin though was when the Hub banned loli. So you could say that this picture is double banned from the Hub, and due to the stress of having one of my favorite pictures constantly tampered with, was one of the reasons I decided to start this blog in the first place.
On that topic, on the future there will be more loli based pictures. Some of Rachel, and some of others. I do happen to be a fan of lolis and since the Hub is not a place to share them anymore, they will be going on here. Apologies if that isn't your thing, but since it is mine I ask that you respect that.
