This is it, we've reached the milestone... the one that more or less got me mass commissioning hypnosis pictures in the first place. The goal of reaching 100 tagged pictures of myself on the Hub! And this picture was done by Keeper of Pots to celebrate the momentous occasion. It was definitely a major goal of min achieved at the time, and it meant so much to me to have reached it. So buckle up folks, this blog entry is gonna be a doozy to reflect that!
Probably around the Hypno Raptor arc from Zorro, I realized I was approaching the big 100 picture goal quickly. It was around then that I mentioned the idea to Keeper of Pots that I'd like to have a celebratory picture to mark the milestone. With a fair bit of time to work with, Keeper of Pots agreed to it. I had already an idea in mind as well, which is rare for me. Though to be specific, I suppose I had a general outline more so than a specific idea. I wanted a big collage of hypnotized interpretations of myself in one picture. After brainstorming a bit with Keeper, he decided to take that idea and turn it into a big call back for previous Erika drawings rather than mash up of random iterations of myself.
At this point, I was more or less hands off for the rest of the project. We had a fair bit of time to work on this, so Keeper worked on this during his spare time. I couldn't really speak for the decision making process that went into him picking the pieces he chose to highlight, but I did get a few quotes from him about working on this piece in general. He had this to say:
"Picking what drawings to re-create from the vast pool of Erika art was a mix between choosing what was memorable, or included things I personally like - like Kaa and tentacles - to making sure that at least a handful of artists would be represented. Any empty spot I had left on the canvas was filled with little props that were self-evident without having to show a full picture, like the Zorro laptop or Rachel with the green evening backdrop."

And what kind of celebratory post would this be if we didn't specifically highlight each and every piece referenced in this picture? It's gonna be a long one, but starting from the upper left corner and going clockwise we have:
1. Erika and the Hypno Raptor by Zorro. Specifically the second encounter, based on the torn outfit.
2. A mysterious tentacle trench coated man from a personal hypnosis story I wrote.
3. Erika in the Hypno Team outfit by Psi. Technically the Mr. Mind specific interaction never happened, but more on that later.
4. Erika being hypnotized by a hypnotic visor by Medri. With a small cameo from an annoyed tentacle monster, and a floating hypnotic orb from these two posts respectively.
5. Erika being penetrated by the purple tentacles by Vahn. There are a lot of purple tentacles in the blog, but the heart eyes and penis shaped bulbs are referring to this post in particular.
11. Erika and the purple tentacles... again! By Sugar-Slime. This is the third species of purple tentacles in this post alone, but this one is distinct because of the eye color pattern.
15. And finally... a tiny, off colored Erika in the middle drawn by me.
Hoo boy, that was a lot to list off there! Keeper of Pots definitely didn't skimp out on the references to the past one hundred pictures, picking out some of his favorites. Not to mention the seamless background transitioning between all the individual pieces, blending together what would normally be many individual pieces into one giant cohesive masterpiece. I cannot thank Keeper of Pots enough for doing this for me out of the complete kindness of his heart. Because yes, this was not a commission. Once again, I just asked if he'd be willing to do it, and he did. No questions asked. What an amazing fellow!
In the list above though, I did mention a little blurb about the Mr. Mind reference in there. While that is something has never been a thing, and will probably never be a thing... we do have some additional comments from Keeper of Pots about that as well:
"I like including references to games, cartoons and comics I like into my work, but this one is a bit of an anomaly... It includes a reference from a comic I haven't personally read - but I liked the design and idea behind Mister Mind enough to include him in a drawing. I might've first come across him on Hypno Hub since one of his canonical powers include mind control."
So yes, you aren't crazy, it's just something that's never been a thing. But as I've said before, I also like including characters who have the canonical method of hypnotizing people, so I'm not against his inclusion. That being said... I still don't actually know who he is.
This post has been pretty long already, and between hunting down each individual blog post to source a direct reference to, writing this all down on the spot, and running into many formatting errors because this site is funny, I've been writing this for about an hour and a half or something. So it's about time we come to a close here folks! But while this was the 100th picture and the realization of a goal, it's not the end of the journey. The adventure of having myself hypnotized in various art forms and scenarios is something that continues to this day, so look forward to further blog posts!
And with that, we'll close this post with one final quote Keeper of Pots had about this piece. Only fitting we end it off here, since this is picture was all him.
"It's always a little difficult to look back on past works, and while there are things I like about this one, like the colors and layout and MOST of the drawings - it has a bit of a janky quality in places. The aforementioned MIster Mind portion has a rather strange looking Erika for instance."
